Mitsubishi Motors Awards its top Service Technicians and Advisors

Mitsubishi Motors Australia has announced the winners of the National Final of the 2014 Service Skills Contest, recognising excellence in customer service and technical expertise.

Two New South Wales dealerships took out the titles this year with Luke Aiken from Lander Mitsubishi, Blacktown, named Technician of the Year and Jamal Box from Kloster Mitsubishi, Hamilton, named Service Advisor of the Year. 

The competition this year was very strong in both categories with a total of 603 Service Advisors and 1,119 Technicians vying for the title in their respective fields. 

After nationwide preliminary testing and regional qualifying contests, the top five technicians and advisors travelled to the Mitsubishi Motors Australia head office in Adelaide to compete in the National Final.

Technician of the Year finalists were put through their paces with a series of practical tests which enabled them to showcase their problem solving skills and product knowledge under strict time constraints. 

The Service Advisor finalists were also put to the test with a range of real-life customer service scenarios where they were assessed on their helpfulness and professionalism. 

The winners were presented with their awards by special guest Mr Masazumi Koga, Corporate General Manager, Service Office, Mitsubishi Motors Corporation and Mitsubishi Motors Australia CEO, Mutsuhiro Oshikiri. 

Service Advisor of the Year Jamal Box was thrilled with his win having entered the Service Skills Contest for this first time this year. 

“From start to finish you never stop learning about the Mitsubishi brand and product. I’m looking forward to putting these skills into practice at our dealership.” 

Mitsubishi Motors Australia Head of National Service David Budden said the commitment and dedication together with high levels of skills and product knowledge of Mitsubishi Service Advisors and Technicians is a key factor in delivering excellent customer service.
“The Service Skills program is an important program for Mitsubishi Motors as it provides motivation for Technicians and Service Advisors to engage with the brand and improve their product knowledge, troubleshooting skills and customer service skills.

“It is thanks to the expertise and professionalism that is honed by our participants during the Service Skills Contest that Mitsubishi continues to offer a consistently high standard of customer service.”
