Mitsubishi Boot Camp Week Two

In addition to gaining lean muscle mass, building overall strength and lowering body fat levels, High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) is one the most effective ways to workout. Particularly if you're pressed for time. The key is intensity and I like to aim on building intensity with each round I do. Studies show that just two weeks of HIIT improves your aerobic capacity as much as 6 to 8 weeks of endurance training! 

Here's my Mitsubishi Boot Camp workout for week two.

Circuit one
4 X rounds
12 X fast squats
12 X elevated triceps push up
12 X fast squats
12 X elevated triceps push up

1 min break, then straight into it. 

Circuit two
4 X rounds 
12 X star jumps
12 X single leg lunge (L)
12 X single leg lunge (R)
12 X toe taps (each leg, 24 in total)

For the fast squats I like to aim to get my butt lower than a 45 degree angle, so the door jam of my Outlander is the perfect bench mark.

Triceps push ups are tricky and I can't do them on a flat surface (yet!). Rather than drop to my knees, I like to build my strength by doing them elevated. I use the car boot as my work bench for these!

Star jumps are done beside the car.

Single leg lunges are my favourite exercise for toning my legs. The door jam on the car is the perfect height. 

Toe taps are just like jogging on the spot, but my knees are high and I aim for my toes to tap the same elevated point each time. The Outlander's wheel does the trick for me.

Oh and of course it's mandatory to crank my mummy music through Mitsubishi's Multi Communication System!


Now you've done the hard work, it's time to treat yourself. I'm pretty stoked that my post workout Kale and Coconut Protein smoothie fits in the cup holder console! 

1/2 cup fresh chopped kale
1/2 frozen banana
1 scoop natural protein
1 cup coconut water
1 cup water 
1 thumbnail fresh ginger
1/2 cup ice
