    About the Role

    As a Product Development Engineer you will be responsible for the development and release of Parts & Accessories, ensuring they are of high quality, aesthetically aligned, cost effective, manufacturable and most importantly meet all the appropriate design and regulatory standards.

    With this newly created role you will be based in our national Head Office in Adelaide and reporting to our Engineering Manager (Accessory Development). You will work collaboratively with Mitsubishi Motors Corporation in Japan and key stakeholders to ensure the development and release of genuine parts and accessories to suit the Australian market. 

    Some of your responsibilities will include:

    • Develop accessories to compliment vehicles and provide customer satisfaction
    • Ensure Parts and Accessories are released in accordance with project timing
    • Prepare and/or review Product Engineering change orders
    • Implement design resolutions to improve the product for customer satisfaction
    • Validate fit, test performance and obtain Engineering approval
    • Participate in Vendor visits, competitor evaluation and research as directed by the Engineering Manager
    • Actively participate and attend product development related meetings and/or activities
    • Maintain knowledge of design standards and ensure safety regulations are met via Design Verification Plan and Report (DVPR)  

    What you'll need to Join Our Team

    • A tertiary qualification in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
    • Proven mechanical or electrical aptitude with automotive parts and accessories design and development
    • Proven project management experience
    • Automotive industry experience (preferred)
    • Experience with viewing and interpreting CAD data, including working knowledge of Catia or alternate CAD platforms
    • Ability to viewing and interpret supplier drawings and installation manuals
    • Able to work in a Cross-functional environment
    • Ability to convert strategy in to a deliverable outcome.
    • Understanding market drivers
    • Highly developed problem solving, analytical skills and attention to detail skills
    • Continuous improvement mindset.
    • A communicative and collaborative approach to working with all stakeholders.
    • Intermediate skills required across Microsoft Office programs.
