First Customers Take Delivery of New Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV
22nd Apr, 2014
Australia’s first official Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV customers have taken delivery of their very own plug-in hybrid SUV.
Dr Tee and Dr Guan of Brisbane were handed the keys to two Outlander PHEV Aspires after they were ordered sight unseen from Motorama Mitsubishi Moorooka in early February of this year.
So impressed by initial reviews of the world’s first plug-in hybrid SUV, Dr Tee and Dr Guan placed deposits for their vehicles prior to its official launch in Australia last month.
“We are long term drivers of Mitsubishi products and have a special interest in Mitsubishis four-wheel-drive range for its practicality and off-road performance,” said Dr Tee. “We regularly check online for Mitsubishi’s new models and came across the Outlander PHEV. We were drawn to the technology of the vehicle and how environmentally friendly the car is to run.”
“The Outlander PHEV is a great fit for our lifestyles. We will be able to take advantage of the 52 kilometre electric range in our daily commute but also look forward to taking the car off-road or for a weekend away with our families,” Dr Guan said.
Mitsubishi Motors Director of Sales Greg Cook said after a strong launch campaign he is excited to see the Outlander PHEV in dealerships and keys in the hands of customers.
“It’s great to see our customers picking up their Outlander PHEVs from dealerships across the country and we look forward to seeing more and more on the road.” The Outlander PHEV – which stands for Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle – boasts combined fuel efficiency of just 1.9-litres per 100 kilometres* – the lowest official ADR fuel consumption figure of any SUV sold in Australia.
With its spacious five seat interior, SUV practicality, 1,500kg braked towing capacity, four-wheel drive capability and starting price of just $47,490 recommended retail, the Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV heralds a new era of affordable, mainstream electric cars.
