“Is this thing on?” - A review of the Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV

The first thing that came to mind when I jumped into the Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV was “Is this thing on?” It was the first time I had ever been in an electric car and it was dead quiet! I loved it!
I have been sceptical to the power that electric cars might be putting out, I chucked my surfboard in the back and took the car up to the Central Coast and was surprised to see there was zero difference on the freeway and even up hills. I switched between petrol and electric a few times and the difference is very minimal.
The other plus side to having this car was to test it out as a young guy who has no garage with a power point to charge it overnight (which is the main feature) and had to rely solely on recharging the battery by driving on the petrol engine. Sydney isn’t exactly filled with garages and a lot of people have to park on the street and this is definitely not something you should be worried about. Sure you use more fuel but I can tell you now it’s a whole lot less than the car you’re driving now!
I didn’t even manage to get through a whole tank of petrol so that might give you some idea!
It’s comfortable, spacious, plenty of power and very cost effective.
Thanks Mitsubishi for letting me drive this amazing car!
