5 New Year’s resolutions you can actually keep
January 19, 2018
New Year, new you. It’s that time of the year when we promise ourselves we will be healthier, less stressed, more organised and all those other fun things that help us feel more together. We sat down with health and wellness guru Lola Berry to see what are 5 easy goals we can add to our resolution list in 2018.
Righto, so it’s start of the new year and we’ve set all these resolutions and if you’re anything like me then you may have already fallen off the wagon. I think it’s less about hard-core resolutions and more about simple tweaks that can become lifestyle changes. I think eating healthy actually comes down to changing your mindset and being healthy because you know you deserve it.If you need some healthy eating inspo you can grab any of my books here.
The trick with being active is finding something you love. For me it’s yoga, or being out in nature. I think when you’re doing something you don’t like its harder to stay compliant. So if its horse riding, gym, walking, bowling, pilates, bootcamp. Try everything on until you find that thing you love, then it won't feel like a work. Now if you're stuck at a desk all day and feeling like you can't be active, here's some yoga you can do at work.
Get back to nature
Biophilia is my favourite word in the whole wide world. I love going for a drive in Mabel and visiting my cousins in the Dandenong rangers, its amazing how connecting to nature can calm you and help to decrease stress levels. Here’s a little nature adventure I filmed with my ASX visiting my cousins tiny home out in nature.
Wash your car
I think washing your car is another form of self care and self love, I know I feel good when I’m in a clean car and it gives me confidence. There’s something in it, it’s like getting a blow-wave you feel that extra bit sparkly!
Put yourself first, unapologetically
The best resolution you can set is to put yourself first, when you do this that’s where the magic is, it means you actually have more to give to others.
