March 5, 2018
Team Triton's Toby Price has finished 2nd overall in the inaugural round of the SuperUtes Series for Mitsubishi Motors Genuine Accessories while Total Tools Craig Dontas has claimed a series of top 5 race results.
Race 1 - Price 4th & Dontas DNF
Thursday's inaugural qualifying session in the SuperUtes Series saw Price finish P5 (01:47.9539), with Dontas just behind his teammate (01:48.4762) who managed to finish P7 despite an engine problem in the session.
Getting a great start off the line and moving up the field in 8 laps, Price finished just shy of the podium in P4 for the first ever SuperUtes Series Race and on his debut in a Ute Race.
Dontas and the Total Tools SuperUte were forced to retire from the race early with a category turbo issue.
Race 2 - Price 5th & Dontas 6th
Saturday's Race was a tough one for Team Triton, with Price spinning from the lead on Lap 2 after a great start but recovering to finish P5.
Dontas began Race 2 from P10 at the back of the field and was able to race his way into P3, showing strong pace and handling for the Triton, but was struck with a category turbo issue in the final laps and finished 6th.
Race 3 - Price 4th & Dontas 5th
For the final SuperUte Race of the Adelaide 500, Price finished 4th in the Mitsubishi Motors Genuine Accessories SuperUte, and his two 4th places and a 5th place race result saw him finish second overall.
Dontas finished 5th in a tightened front of the field and is now looking forward to making some adjustments to the Total Tools Triton prior to the remaining rounds.
