Drive Battery Capacity Care Program

For Outlander Plug-in Hybrid EVs purchase after 1 October 2020, the drive battery is covered for 8 years or 160,000kms (whichever occurs first) ⋄1

Gradual capacity loss of the drive battery over its lifetime, known as degradation, is a normal characteristic of this technology and is not caused by defects in materials or factory workmanship. As such, degradation is not covered under the above warranty.

From 22MY Outlander Plug-in Hybrid vehicles onward, The Drive Battery Capacity Care Program provides for protection against degradation. Subject to the terms of the Program, when fully charged, if the battery does not retain at least 66% of its useable energy capacity Mitsubishi Motors will (at its sole discretion and election) repair, replace or otherwise treat the drive battery without cost such that it retains at least 66% of its useable energy capacity.

The Drive Battery Capacity Care Program will apply from the date of first registration for the warranty period of 8 years or 160,000kms (whichever occurs first). ⋄1

To claim under the Drive Battery Capacity Care Program, you are required to present your vehicle to an authorised Mitsubishi Motors Dealer.

The Warranty applies to the original components that have not been modified or altered from the manufacturer’s specifications. Modifying your vehicle or installing parts and accessories which are not approved by Mitsubishi Motors will not void your warranty. However, if a modified part needs replacing or causes damage to other components, this will not be covered.

All Mitsubishi warranties, including the New Car Warranty and Roadside Assist, are transferred to whoever owns the vehicle. It’s best to contact any Mitsubishi Motors Dealer to confirm which warranties your vehicle has.
