Reinforced Impact Safety Evolution (RISE)

The Mitsubishi Reinforced Impact Safety Evolution (RISE) system means you and your passengers are protected by the latest energy-absorbing chassis design and technology. In the event of a collision, impact-absorbing crushable zones are designed to absorb and dissipate energy away from the passenger compartment, keeping you and your passengers cocooned and protected.

3/9
Reversing Camera

The reversing camera supplements the driver’s rear field of view by automatically appearing on screen when reverse gear is engaged. In models with reverse parking sensors, Pajero alerts you when objects get a little close. The Pajero Exceed's reversing camera image automatically appears on the MMCS display when reversing gear is engaged.

4/9
SRS airbags

Six SRS airbags are standard on the entire Pajero range for essential protection. Side and curtain airbags are also available across the Pajero range.

5/9
Active Traction Control (ATC)

Active Traction Control (ATC) helps the maintain traction on the most slippery or rugged of surfaces. It automatically controls the engine's output – so driving wheels are prevented from spinning. Sensing loss of traction in independent wheels, ATC applies braking force to that particular wheel and sends extra power and torque to other wheels with traction to keep the vehicle moving and in control.

6/9
Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD)

EBD works hand-in-hand with Pajero's ABS computer to assess load and distribute braking force between the front and rear wheels. As such, when you have load in the rear, it helps you stop in a shorter distance than with standard brakes.

7/9
Engine Brake Assist Control

You’ll have superior control when stepping down steep descents, with the incorporation of Engine Brake Assist Control – as you won't be losing engine braking and traction due to slipping wheels. This system work automatically when descending steep slopes in 4LLC mode.

8/9
Anti-lock Braking System (ABS)

ABS allows you to manoeuvre around objects under heavy braking conditions. Pajero's intelligent 4-channel, 4-sensor braking system works in conjunction with the drive mode to monitor different wheel speeds and activate brakes to individual wheels when required to deliver superior control.

9/9
Active Stability Control (ASC)

ASC maintains stability and control when cornering by automatically recognising under-steer and over-steer. It applies brakes to the appropriate wheels to keep you online through corners.

Power & Performance

1/11
3 tonne towing

Pajero’s impressive power and torque mean a mammoth 3,000kg* towing capacity so you can tow your boat, caravan or trailer with supreme confidence.

*Subject to state regulations and towbar designs. A Weight Distribution Hitch (WDH) is recommended for towball downloads exceeding 135kg. For further information, please refer to the Pajero Owner’s manual.

2/11
INVECS II ‘Smart Logic’ transmission

The Mitsubishi 5-Speed INVECS II (Intelligent and Innovative Vehicle Electronic Control System) automatic transmission operates by switching between logic controls. An onboard computer learns and adapts to each driver's preferences by recording engine and foot braking data. The control logic then adapts the automatic gearshift timing to suit that driver's style, while minimizing torque function fluctuation for effortless acceleration and a more predictable ride.

3/11
Powerful Common Rail turbo diesel engine

The very latest in diesel engine technology delivers power without compromise. The 3.2 litre Common Rail turbo-charged diesel available across the Pajero range yields not only next generation quietness, smoothness, fuel efficiency and emission reduction through an advanced common rail system, but delivers 147kW of power and 441Nm of grunty torque. This power isn't at the expense of fuel efficiency. The manual Pajero sips just 8.4L/100kms*

* ADR81/02. Combined city and highway.

4/11
Rear Differential Lock

The Rear Differential Lock is useful for negotiating low traction surfaces such as sand, mud, snow-covered or rocky surfaces or boat ramps. It locks the rear differential, which means that both rear wheels have an equal torque split, regardless of whether either wheel has traction – meaning maximum possible traction in different situations. The Rear Differential Lock option is easily engaged and disengaged – and the switch is mounted on the Pajero’s instrument panel.

5/11
Independent Rear Suspension

For superior handling, the Pajero boasts independent multi-link rear suspension – with coil springs adding to increased suspension travel and track. The result is maximum tread contact on tough terrain. The independent layout also reduces under steer and improves cornering stability – meaning enhanced ride comfort, both on and off the road.

6/11
Sports mode

In the automatic Pajero, Sports Mode is engaged when the shift lever is moved sideways, giving you convenience of an automatic – or the performance of a slick, clutchless manual drive. When engaged, the transmission delivers a responsive, sporty and dynamic performance that allows for superior acceleration and overtaking.

7/11
Super Select 4WD II

The Pajero's Super Select 4WD II lets you have full-time 4WD with selectable 2WD mode – which means the choice of around-town fuel efficiency and off-road traction whenever you want. This unique system allows you to alternate between 4WD to 2WD modes at speeds of up to 100km/h.

8/11
2H (2WD High Range)

Whether you're cruising down the highway or just going across town, 2H mode shifts you into rear-wheel drive for smooth, quiet, fuel-efficient performance.

9/11
4H (Full Time 4WD)

When the weather turns bad and the road gets rough, get added traction in 4H mode. The dynamic front/rear torque split adjusts between 33:67 and 50:50 for greater control in high-speed driving.

10/11
4HLC (4WD high range with locked centre differential)

Keeping you on track in rugged or slippery conditions, 4HLC distributes power equally to all four wheels to meet off-road challenges with a steady sense of control.

11/11
4LLC (4WD low range with locked centre differential)

Switch to 4LLC when you need all the tractor-like crawling power your Mitsubishi 4WD is capable of. Maximised low-end torque pulls you through even the roughest terrain, stickiest mud and deepest snow.
