Performance

1/12
2.5L Common Rail Turbo Diesel Engine

Available in two power & torque configurations depending on the model you choose, the impressive 2.5L Turbo Diesel engine will exceed your expectations ensuring your Triton delivers no matter what. Whether you towing or load carrying you can be confident in your Triton to get you there every time with ease.

The high output version available in all 4x4 and dual cab 4x2 delivers outstanding power & torque:

  • 131kW of power
  • 400Nm of torque (350Nm for automatic models)

Refer to the specification section for standard output version figures for the engine available on the GLX Single Cab 4x2.

2/12
Up to three tonne towing

You'll find it tough to beat the powerful towing capacity of the Triton. The 4x4 diesel range can tow up to a huge three tonnes making it ideal for busy farms or worksites.

3/12
Turning circle

A power-assisted rack and pinion set-up means the Triton's 11.8m kerb-to-kerb turning circle provides exceptional manoeuvrability.

4/12
Sports Mode

Available on the GLX, and GLX-R means you can switch between the ease of an automatic or enjoy the control of a manual without a clutch. The clutch free operation reduces the rev and torque loss usually associated with changing gears meaning you can maintain momentum in off road situations.

5/12
Transmission

The 2.4L petrol model comes with a smooth-shifting 5-speed manual gearbox. The 2.5L diesel models have the choice of the 5-speed manual or a responsive 4-speed automatic with sports mode. The GLX-R automatic model is a 5-speed with Sports Mode.

6/12
Rear differential lock (Optional on GLX-R)

Triton’s rear diff lock provides superior traction for heavy-duty four wheel driving at low speeds. With the rear diff locked, both wheels receive the same amount of driving force – making it easier to conquer difficult terrain.

7/12
Easy Select 4WD

Enabling smooth control from the driver’s seat, the Easy select 4WD system incorporates 2WD High Range for high speed driving comfort, and two transfer modes to deliver superior traction for off road situations; 4WD High Range and 4WD Low Range. When added traction is required off the black top, the free-wheeling front differential enables you to shift on-the-fly (at speeds of up to 100km/h) from 2WD to 4WD High Range mode. Easy Select 4WD also offers a 4WD Low Range mode for conquering the roughest terrain.

Easy Select 4WD is currently available on Triton GLX 4x4.

8/12
Super Select 4WD

With the option of full-time 4WD, high and low 4WD with centre diff locking and selectable 2WD mode, Super Select 4WD on Triton GLX-R gives you more control when you need it in everyday situations like bad weather or difficult surfaces. The 4H (full-time 4WD) mode allows driving in four-wheel drive mode on hard surfaces thanks to the flexibility of a centre-differential with viscous coupling unit.

9/12
2H (2WD high range)

When you’re cruising down the highway or just going across town, 2H shifts you in to rear-wheel drive for smooth, quiet, fuel-efficient performance.

10/12
4H (Full Time 4WD)

When the weather turns bad and the road gets rough, get added traction in 4H mode. This has the flexibility of a centre-differential with viscous coupling unit, providing excellent traction in unpredictable road conditions or on volatile surfaces.

11/12
4HLC (4WD high range with locked centre differential)

Keeping you on track in rugged or slippery conditions, 4HLC distributes power equally to all four wheels to meet off-road challenges with a steady sense of control.

12/12
4LLC (4WD low range with locked centre differential)

Switch to 4LLC when you need all the tractor-like crawling power your Mitsubishi 4WD is capable of. Maximised low-end torque pulls you through even the roughest terrain, stickiest mud and deepest snow.

1/7
SRS Airbags

To provide essential protection in the event of a frontal collision, Triton is fitted with driver and front passenger SRS airbags as standard. Side and curtain SRS airbags are also fitted to all dual cab models for optimal protection in the event of a side-on collision. The side airbags inflate from the side of the seat to protect the torso while the curtain airbags activate from the roof headlining to protect the head.

2/7
Four Star ANCAP rating

Triton is among the safest utes on the road according to the Australian New Car Assessment (ANCAP), which tests the level of occupant protection in serious front and side crashes.

3/7
Reinforced Impact Safety Evolution (RISE)

The Mitsubishi Reinforced Impact Safety Evolution (RISE) system means you and your passengers are protected by the latest energy-absorbing chassis design and technology. In the event of a collision, impact-absorbing crushable zones are designed to absorb and dissipate energy away from the passenger compartment, keeping you and your passengers cocooned and protected.

4/7
Active Stability Control (ASC) and Traction control

Maintains stability and prevents loss of control when cornering, automatically recognizing under-steer and over-steer and applying braking force to the diagonal wheel to keep you online through corners.

5/7
Anti-lock Braking System (ABS)

The Triton's Anti-Lock Braking System (ABS) delivers lock-free braking power and control. Even in emergency braking conditions on slippery or uneven roads, it will help you steer safely around obstacles without losing traction.

6/7
Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD)

Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD) actively monitors different wheel speeds and evenly distributes brake pressure across the front and rear wheels of the Triton, depending on vehicle load. Under heavier loads, EBD provides shorter braking distances while enhancing overall control.

7/7
ISO-FIX

Triton double cab models are equipped with ISO-FIX which is the new standard in safety for baby and child seats. All models have two ISO-FIX points.

MAKE LIGHT WORK OF HEAVY LOADS

The Triton Double Cab's Long Bed provides plenty of space for your carrying needs. The pick up models have a huge 1505mm in length and 460mm in height so you can load those bulky items in with no problems. Couple this with impressive power and torque and you can be confident that the Triton can move whatever you need it to with ease.
