Triton diesel models are powered by a super-responsive 2.4L DOHC MIVEC 16 valve common rail intercooled diesel engine. An aluminium cylinder block and lightweight materials reduce weight and with a compression ratio of 15.5:1, it is amongst the quietest and most efficient diesel engines. The impressive MIVEC common rail direct injection turbo diesel engine will exceed your expectations, delivering more power, more torque and exceptional fuel efficiency. With the option of Full-time 4WD, High and Low Range 4WD with centre diff lock and selectable 2WD, the Super Select 4WD II system on the Mitsubishi Triton GLS and Exceed will give you more control in bad weather or on difficult surfaces.

The Triton GLX 4WD Easy Select 4WD System allows the driver to switch between 2WD and 4WD while on the move. The system has three operating modes – 2H, 4H and 4L – and the driver can change between 2H and 4H at speeds under 100km/hr.
A power-assisted rack and pinion set-up means the Mitsubishi Triton’s 11.8m turning circle provides exceptional manoeuvrability, making it easier to drive and manoeuvre on narrow roads and in crowded urban environments.
The 5 speed automatic transmission features a higher torque capacity and a revised shift pattern and lock-up range, to deliver improved performance and lower CO2 emissions. Sliding the shifter into the Sport Mode slot right next to the D range allows you to operate the transmission like a manual gearbox as well.
Giving priority to reliability and durability, Mitsubishi Triton’s double wishbone front and leaf spring rear suspension deliver improved comfort on tarmac with better vehicle stability when driving off-road.
When reverse gear is engaged, the reverse camera image appears automatically on the GLS’ display audio or Exceed’s MMCS screen, supplementing the driver's rear field of view.
