MITSUBISHI MOTORS NEWS RELEASE
A Triton Superfan’s Journey
You’d be hard pressed to find a Triton fan more devoted than Anthony Potter, founder of MV Triton Club Australia.
He recently embarked on the journey of a lifetime, travelling to Mitsubishi Motors Corporation’s (MMC) headquarters in Japan to meet the Triton godfather and Global Product Marketer, Yoshiki Masuda.

“We share a few things in common, the obvious one being our love for Tritons,” he said.
“Masuda-san’s knowledge and love for everything Mitsubishi was inspiring, and I really enjoyed picking his brain about the history of the Triton.”
Masuda-san said Anthony’s visit was a wonderful moment for the entire Triton team.
“Our Mitsubishi car manufacturing spirit comes from the passion and enthusiasm of customers like Anthony,” he said.
“During his visit to Japan, we shared our passion for all things Triton, and he even shared his extensive knowledge to our younger employees through a series of discussions and presentations.
“Meeting Anthony was a heartwarming opportunity for our team, and we are extremely grateful for the strong support from the MV Triton Club!”
Anthony had also set out on the trip to see this year’s Japan Mobility Show. It was there he saw the AXCR-winning Ralliart Triton in the metal, complete with a guided tour from two-time Dakar Rally champion and Ralliart Team Director Hiroshi Masuoka.
“As a motorsport and Triton fan it was probably my highlight of the year… and almost up there with the birth of my first son – but don’t tell anyone that!”
“It was a breathtaking experience after having followed all the action from the stages of the AXCR Rally in Thailand.
“Our whole MV Triton community was super excited and proud when team Ralliart crossed the line first.”
It only cemented Anthony’s dream of a factory Ralliart-inspired Triton in his garage, complete with a specialty engine tune and performance upgrades.
“Australians love fast cars and off-road driving, so I’m not sure it’s just myself who would love to see a Ralliart MV Triton hit Mitsubishi showrooms around the country,” he said.
The adorably compact yet capable Delica Mini kei car also caught his attention.
“The tech and space inside is fantastic, and the looks are really eye-catching… it would be super popular in cities around Australia if it made its way here,” he said.
Before heading home, Anthony gifted the team an exclusive copy of his self-published picture book, filled with photos of Tritons snapped by fans from all over Australia alongside extensive information of the nameplate’s history in the Australian automotive scene.
