Sustainability

Sustainability and Social Impact

Mitsubishi Motors Australia community programs combine our charitable giving with our SUV and 4x4 vehicles to make a difference to the communities in which we operate.

We support projects that are focused on helping communities through the use of vehicles across the areas of community development and disaster relief. In this way, we make meaningful change with a lasting impact.

Community Fleet

The Challenge

Logistics in the immediate aftermath of a disaster is critical to assist in the assessment of damage and the effectiveness of rescue, relief and recovery efforts. Though governments and aid agencies can often move quickly to mobilise people, it is more difficult to gain sufficient, fit-for-purpose vehicles at pace.

Our Solution

Our Community Fleet program allows these agencies to request the use of our vehicles for the purpose of community development and disaster relief. These short-term leases are offered at no cost and comprehensively insured to the receiving organisation.

To make this happen, we mobilise our staff volunteers and dealer network – from our field technicians to our supply chain managers – to bring to bear free, safe and vital vehicles to support disaster relief and humanitarian aid efforts.

Deployments include:

  • 2018 Queensland floods
  • 2019-2020 Australian bushfires
  • 2020 COVID programmes logistical support
  • Ongoing national partnership with Disaster Relief Australia
